In the past year, students of IVE Hospitality Discipline had opportunities to widen their global horizons through ranges of outbound exchange programmes in the United Kingdom, Austria, Australia, France, Dubai, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia etc.

Australia

Students from the Higher Diploma in Tourism and MICE participated in a one-week Australia study programme in July 2017. During the programme, students attended classes and training about sustainable tourism of Australia in TAFE Queensland Institute, visited the University of Queensland, Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as other famous tourism attractions.

Japan

Students from the Hospitality Discipline participated in a two-month Internship Programme in Japan during July to August 2017. They carried out the Internship in the one of the Top 10 enterprises in Japan – JTB Corporation in the first month and Agora Hotel in the second month. Students learned the operations and management of travel agency and hotel.

Taiwan

Coffee culture becomes popular nowadays. Students from the Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management participated in the first coffee learning tour that organized by IVE Hospitality Discipline in September 2017. Students were able to experience the whole cycle of coffee processing and roasting by visiting renowned coffee shop, workshops and coffee farms in Taiwan.

Vietnam

In September 2017, Hospitality students joined an educational study tour on the Royal Caribbean Cruise – Voyager of the Seas to Vietnam. The tour provided students with a valuable learning experience about cruise and MICE events operations by inviting the General Manager of Lotus Tours to deliver a seminar on the topic of MICE and cruise business development, behind-the-scenes tour in order to understand cruise operations in a real working environment.
